You will not necessarily be contacted when your application is allocated to an Immigration Officer for processing. You will be contacted if the Immigration Officer has any questions pertaining to your application or requires further information, otherwise you will only be contacted to inform you of the outcome when a decision is made.
You are correct in that 90% of applications are currently processed in 6 months. However, this is a rolling average and fluctuates over time: it is possible that processing times may be shorter or longer in future, for a variety of reasons (and one important reason will be the forthcoming change in the Skilled Migrant Category points criteria). You should also remember that your application, depending on your unique circumstances, may be amongst the 10% of applications that take far longer.
Thanks. Please do not talk bout those 10%
By the way, do you have any idea for assigning people to national security check and the difference between people who have been here for say 1 year and did not exit the country with those say have been 5 years here and enter/exit several times? As due to our nationality I believe they did security check for the visa previous and this year (my partner is a phd student got visa on middle 2022 and I partner work visa this year march).
Do you think living in different countries make the process more complex?! ot it is good that we have say EU temporary resident permit and live in other countries at least for a few months
