I am sorry - I do not live in New Zealand, so I don't know about organizations which might give financial help.

I suggest you should contact the New Zealand Citizens' Advice Bureau, who have access to details of many bodies, charities and government organizations. https://www.cab.org.nz/ (Notice, you can phone and speak to someone - you don't have to look through their suggested Q and A lists.)
