Default Child born in NZ with parents holder of resident visa of NZ

Is it correct that the child born in NZ with his/her parents holder of the resident visa of NZ become citizen of NZ and can apply for NZ passport?
    I read here:https://www.govt.nz/browse/passports...h-and-descent/
and it shows that it is correct but in immigration website something like PR is written which is confusing.
By the way, should the child born inside NZ to be citizen?

When you say "...but in immigration website something like PR is written" <-- can you reference/link to where you saw this?

"By the way, should the child born inside NZ to be citizen?" <-- use the citizenship checking tool to answer this https://www.govt.nz/browse/passports...a-citizen/#1-0

New Zealand citizenship by means of birth is legislated by Section 6 of the Citizenship Act 1977.

Many NZ government departments' literature and websites have never been altered since the names of certain visas were altered back in 2010.

A resident visa definitely gives the holder the right to live forever in NZ, *while they are onshore*, so the child of a resident born in NZ does meet the requirements to have citizenship.

So, I checked the website it seems that born inside New Zealand is a MUST, right?

A child born outside New Zealand may be a citizen by descent at the time of birth: for this to apply, generally at least one parent must be a New Zealand citizen otherwise than by descent. Refer to Section 7 of the Citizenship Act 1977.

If a child born outside New Zealand is not a citizen by descent, that child would need to obtain a residence class visa by any applicable pathway, then meet the criteria and apply for New Zealand citizenship by grant.
