    Default Visa medical AEWV

    Hi,

I am in the progress of applying for the AEWV. Having g secured a job beginning of May.

I have been very worried about having my medical done, being quite overweight and reading some horror stories of people having their visas rejected. I tried to lose some weight before my medical and managed 16lbs in the 7 weeks I had. Have lost another 4 since. And plan to continue to lose weight, I want to eventually be a healthy weight in case i plan to go for residency.

    My medical was last week.

I have just checked my visa progress and the medical section has been marked as complete and my visa is in the under assessment final stage which is in progress.

Does this mean I passed my medical and there's no issues? Or can the final assessment flag something up?

Don't want to get my hopes up too soon!

    Thanks 😊

This looks as though your medical has very likely been passed. Medicals are first scanned by computer. Had there been any abnormality flagged, the normal thing would be for the medical to be looked at by a human being, in case the abnormality is only something like a 0.01 outside a norm on something, which can be ignored. If it's more complicated than that, it's referred to a Medical Assessor, for that person to look at and understand all the medical matters, to see if you have an Acceptable Standard of Health (ASH). Without that, the application wouldn't be passed directly to a Case Officer, which it must have been for it to be now in the final stages. It wouldn't be correct for an application to be being considered without a determination of ASH.

    Cautious optimism...
