    Default Long distance relationship bringing partner

    Hi
    My friend is a NZ citizen and has been doing LDR for couple of years. He wants to bring her to NZ and lives here. What is the best visa option for her?
    The culturally arranged married seems not the right one as they don't have any matchmaker involved.
    The visitor visa also not right as she plans to stay in the country.
    The other partnership visa required living together proof which they don't have.
    Thanks.
    Tia

    Some forum members in the past have had success in obtaining the general Visitor Visa for the purpose of "look, see, decide", but be aware that INZ will give such applications more scrutiny than usual. See INZ's advice here (the circular is 5 years old, but I'm not aware of it being superseded by a newer one).

    I suggest you should Google <<site:enz.org look see and decide for partner>>, which will show you some old threads on this subject.

    Hi there - I just discussed this with a friend today. She is going to have her partner apply for the Partner of a NZ Citizen Visitor Visa. Once he arrives in NZ with his approved visitor visa, he can then apply for the Partner of a NZ Citizen Work Visa. Then, after living together for 12 months, he can apply for the Partner of a NZ Citizen Residence Visa. All of these visas require substantial proof of relationship and finances.

    Hi @Kelerei, that Visa Pak has been superseded by this IAC: https://www.immigration.govt.nz/docu...p-criteria.pdf

    @Tia2018 take note.

    The "look, see, decide" option may also be inappropriate, as that's a different intention (usually used by those seeking employment in NZ).

    There's also a more recent Visa Pak regarding assessing partnership applications:
