Applying for NZ Citizenship by grant - online or in-person faster?

I'm finally eligible to apply for my NZ citizenship - very exciting. I got the 'green tick' on the DIA presence calculator today, which is the earliest date I thought I'd be able to apply.

I'm wondering what the most efficient way to apply is - online, or in-person? I'm based in Wellington (near the cbd) so getting to an appointment wouldn't be an issue. I have an existing RealMe account (but it's not been fully verified - do I need to do this?).

I am traveling to Australia in a few weeks (just for a few days), not sure if that's relevant - but ideally would like to put the application in before then, sometime in the next 2 weeks or so.

Online is faster these days.
