    Default Internal flights and prices

    Just for info

I just checked up on internal flights for our reccy in Jan.

Air NZ .co.uk quoted me a return ticket for £250 sterling pp (Napier to ChCh)

Air NZ .co.nz quoted the same trip for a total of $624 for 2 people.

Needless to say I jumped straight in and booked all four of our internal flights for a total of $1000 NZ!

    Auckland to Gisborne - Return
    Napier to ChCh - Return

    Very interesting... :?

Yes, we have also booked a few flights with airnz.co.nz
The uk version were £79 each way, the NZ version....$79
    Unbeleivable really!!
Found some really cheap flights.....unfortunately, my mother in law won't drive to Wellington from Levin, as there's "too much traffic"!!!!, so we are going to and from Palmerston North. Have had to book with Origin for some flights, and they were a bit more expensive.

    I have this down.

    1. Find the flight on airnewzealand.co.nz
    2. Phone your mate in NZ
    3. Get him to book for you
    4. Pay them when you get there.

I paid $85 for AKL to WLG.

They just take the p*ss otherwise.
I went into Flight Centre to say, is there a better way? Do I have to phone my mate everytime. And he said "Yes"
    Cheaper.

I don`t know why you need a mate in NZ to book for you.

When I was in the UK I booked through AirNZ.co.nz via internet and had no problems. Pai by visa and got an e-ticket.

If you have a credit card you can pay for the flights yourself through the air nz new zealand website.
The tickets are electronic, ie you just print your confirmation page.
    So it's easy!

there is a bit on the web page that says you have to be a person living in NZ to be eligible for the fares so if you put in a UK phone no. it won't normally accept it. that was the case in May this year for sure but I don't know if its changed. the way round it is to not put a phone no. in, or as said above a nz phone no.

Must have changed, because you pick your country and can put a phone number now.

Well, I've got my e tickets and they've got my money so it's a contract now.

Similar experience in April, ended up saving 100's pounds by booking on-line. Checked with travel agent contact in New Plymouth, who said no problem for anybody to book the e-tickets online.

Also found very good fares with http://www.originpacific.co.nz , far cheaper than anything I could book through UK travel agents or even with AirNZ in London.
