Question Looking for a job in Auckland

    hi everyone,

I'm Italian and I arrived in Auckland two weeks ago.
Everything's going great, I even found a flat to stay in just 4 days!
Now I'm looking for a job, I'm graduated in Economics and I'm 23, with one year of work experience.
I'm using seek.co.nz to get myself some interviews but I was wondering if there's a website tailored for new migrants.
If you can help, it would be fantastic!

    Cheers,

    Andrea

I'd get yourself in front of as many recruitment people as possible.
Frog, Enterprise, Drake, Kelly, Madison (all in www.yellowpages.co.nz)

But don't rely on them, br proactive and contact companies directly.

Seek is the only one I use, and I think its the best but there are few others
    http://www.netcheck.co.nz/ for example

    good luck

    thank you for your reply.
and good italian, by the way

I still don't know whether is better to show up at recruitment agencies' offices with my CV or simply send e-mails.

I hope I'll work it out soon.

    Cheers

    Hi Andrea

I'd turn up and bash their doors down. Make appointments or just turn up on the off chance.

They are more likely to think you are committed if you put yourself out and go to them. It is easy for us to sit at the end of a pc now.

You never know what has just come in, a job they haven't had time to list?

It also gives you a chance to look at the agency and get a feel for them too.

You'll never know until you try . Good luck
