    Default Account Number Format???

    Hi, cant find an answer to this by doing a search but - i am trying move money via Transferz, and I have been given a 15 digit number by the account holder in NZ, how do I convert this to fit into Transferz's boxes, is it the first 6 numbers as a branch sort code and the rest are the account number? or what? help from any Transferz veterans appreciated

    this is on the Tranzfers FAQ page....

    New Zealand
    Bank and branch number (6 digits in total, 2 for the bank and 4 for the branch), account number (7 digits) and suffix (either 2 or 3 digits)

    ie first 6 are the Bank and branch then the next 7 is the account number and the last are the suffix

    IE KIWIBANK - WELLINGTON - ACCOUNT NO- SUFFIX.....dont know what a suffix is

    Here's an example..

    This is the account number and format used by Selwyn Council for online payment transfers...

    03 1587 0050000 00

    03 = bank
    1587 = branch
    0050000 = account
    00 = account suffix

    You'll soon get used to it if you use TradeMe a lot

    Suffix is to show the type of bank account e.g. current (cheque) account or savings account.

    Correct

    Suffix is the code for the type of account

    00 is for a normal account
    50 is for a savings account
