Oh no!!! The marech of the Tesco giant knows no boundaries...
Yes we keep a close look at the prices of the food in the U.K.The weekly shop is one of our largest expenses with a growing family. What with a six foot five 15 year old boy that's got to 'fill out' yet and an 11yr old girl that can eat for England.Plus,we only eat 'good' food of which we eat copious amounts we constantly need to 'justify' the move here in that respect. N.Z. won hands down five years ago, however as time has gone by it has become a closer race if you know what I mean.Recent comparisons with my family in the U.K.see's them edging ahead more and more,mmm....
Ah flip hopefully not another NZ owned co down the pan!! Seriously hope Tesco doesn't buy them out - won't do much for our economy (althought we might finally get some decent sausages!!) nor the Tindall Foundation I shouldn't have thought - I used to work with Tindall Foundation in my last role - some amazing projects they fund - would be sad if that went.
Idiot.I Should have looked at the link properly.I wrongly assumed it was the online shopping link.I'm the kind of guy who when he was a kid, built the airfix models without looking at the instructions and then wondered what all the bits left in the bag were!!I do have an excuse though,I'm busy painting the roof but had to come in for a drink and was worried my brush would go hard. It's baking hot up there.Anyhow yes Tesco marches on.I'll never fogive them for plonking a supermarket where Central Park(Wigan RLFC) used to be.
I did wonder about your post but thought maybe you'd been to the pub early!!
sounded like a bit of sunstroke the poor guy had, as he does mention its baking hot up thereOriginally Posted by sarahw

It's my favourite "interest" area around my teaching.
Personally l'd love to see a Tesco/Warehouse combo in the local area, it's the only thing l still have trouble getting used to here......the lack of food choice/variety.
We've only been here 3 months so everything is still a bit of an adventure, except for the weekly food shop which l dread.
The 4 main supermarkets all seem to stock the same supplies some just have better decor and charge higher prices. I've been finding it really difficult this month as l know back in the UK the supermarkets will all be filled to the brim with Xmas goodies and you really have to look hard to find much in the shops here except for a few mince pies.......still trying to find the Brandy butter/cream to go with them!!!
