Figures from Trade Me Property for August 2020 showed that the average (median) rent for a three / four bedroomed property in New Zealand, excluding Auckland, was $520 per week and for a one / two bedroomed property was $380 per week.
The Tenancy Services Division figures show that in Waikato / Hamilton one of the most expensive average rents for a two bedroomed house is in the Hamilton suburbs of Hamilton – Te Kowhai / St Andrews / Queenwood costing $440 per week. The cheapest is in Otorohanga / Waitomo costing $250 per week.
For a three bedroomed house in Waikato / Hamilton one of the most expensive average rents is in the Hamilton suburb of Claudelands costing $490 per week and the cheapest is in Otorohanga / Waitomo costing $307 per week.
