Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) is a high quality tertiary education provider located in the Nelson / Marlborough region at the top of New Zealand’s South Island. With campuses in Nelson and Blenheim, NMIT offers more than 80 programmes at certificate, diploma or degree level across a broad range of areas.

Nelson Pine Industries Ltd
Nelson Pine Industries Limited produces GoldenEdge MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) and NelsonPine LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) from radiata pine grown in the plantation forests of Nelson, New Zealand. Nelson Pine Industries is one of the world’s largest single site producers of medium density fibreboard.

The New Zealand King Salmon Company Ltd
With over 450 employees, a vertically integrated salmon farming, processing and marketing company. The company currently owns seven sea farm sites, of which five are active at any one time, all located in the Marlborough Sounds. The New Zealand King Salmon Company has three leading retail brands: Regal, Seasmoke and Southern Ocean.

Sealord Group Limited
Sealord employs around 1,600 people in New Zealand and a further 1,600 people are involved in Sealord business overseas through joint venture operations. Sealord sells more than 1,500 fish and shellfish products to customers world wide and is a well known name on New Zealand supermarket shelves.

Talley’s Frozen Foods Ltd
A private company, incorporating Talley’s Seafood Division, Talley’s Vegetable Division and Talley’s Dairy Division. The Seafood Division owns and operates four seafood processing factories and a fleet of inshore and deep water fishing vessels. This Division also is involved in fishing quota, mussel farms, coolstorage facilities and a fleet of freezer trucks. The Vegetable Division operate their own farms and contracts the supply of vegetables with a wide base of growers. The Dairy Division uses local natural ingredients, especially rich fresh cream and milk, to make ice cream. As one of the largest privately owned companies in the South Island, Talley’s employ close to a thousand full time staff and an additional 600 staff across the seasons at 9 locations.

Global Forest Partners Weyerhaeser New Zealand
Weyerhaeuser New Zealand was established in June 1997 when Weyerhaeuser Company acquired a 51 percent share in the Nelson Forests Joint Venture. Weyerhaeuser New Zealand was then acquired by Global Forest Partners in 2007. Today, Global Forest Partners Weyerhaeuser New Zealand produces logs for both appearance-grade products and the construction market. The company employs over 300 people in New Zealand, including contractors.
