A private company, incorporating Talley’s Seafood Division, Talley’s Vegetable Division and Talley’s Dairy Division. The Seafood Division owns and operates four seafood processing factories and a fleet of inshore and deep water fishing vessels. This Division also is involved in fishing quota, mussel farms, coolstorage facilities and a fleet of freezer trucks. The Vegetable Division operate their own farms and contracts the supply of vegetables with a wide base of growers. Weyerhaeuser New Zealand was established in June 1997 when Weyerhaeuser Company acquired a 51 percent share in the Nelson Forests Joint Venture. Weyerhaeuser New Zealand was then acquired by Global Forest Partners in 2007. Today, Global Forest Partners Weyerhaeuser New Zealand produces logs for both appearance-grade products and the construction market. The company employs over 300 people in New Zealand, including contractors.
